Facts about geothermal heating
![]() Function |
There is a source of heat in our bedrock with a very even temperature all year round, that is free of cost. The deeper one drills, the higher and more even the temperature. Geothermal heating is a safe, reliable and environmentally friendly form of heating.
Function
The fluid circulating in a drilled hole, is pumped up in tubes and transported to a heat pump. In the pump the temperature is raised and the collected heating energy is transmitted to the heating system in the building. The now cooled down fluid is transported back to the hole through the tubes to draw more warmth from it.
Geothermal cooling
In a house with a heat pump the cool fluid circulating in the drilled hole can be used to cool down the supply air in the summer time.
Enervent Cooling Geo automation
CG- (Cooling Geo) automation can be installed in all Enervent units with EDA automation. There are three choices of installation:
Alternative 1:
The effect of the cooling coil is regulated by changing the fluid flow. NOTE! It is important to check with the manufacturer of the heat pump that the installation alternative is suitable. The automation includes the relay needed to start the circulation pump in the heat pump unit, the 3-way valve and valve actuator needed for the cooling. Regulation of the cooling is done using the EDA-automation in the ventilation unit.
Alternative 2:
The effect of the cooling coil is regulated by changing the fluid flow. The automation includes the relay needed to start a circulation pump connected to the ventilation units cooling coil, the 3-way valve and the valve actuator needed for the cooling. Regulation of the cooling is done using the EDA-automation in the ventilation unit. The heat pump is not started during cooling.
Alternative 3:
The effect of the cooling coil is regulated by changing the temperature of the fluid in the geothermal system. The return pipe of the cooling coil is connected with the return pipe of the geothermal system. The automation includes the relay needed to start a circulation pump connected to the ventilation unit's cooling coil, the 3-way valve and the valve actuator needed for the cooling. Regulation of the cooling is done using the EDA-automation in the ventilation unit. The heat pump is not started during cooling.
